Item was defective

Upon first use, I got error code E4 and the unit started leaking water out the bottom. I see this problem was mentioned in another review as well and I now see references to this problem on other websites.I thought I'd give this a shot, despite some negative reviews, because it was the right size and right price. Well, lesson learned. I gave this 1 star because apparently this must be a "known" issue as a quick google search for "danby countertop dishwasher e4 error" turns up a few results which is saying quite a lot for a bargain-priced kitchen appliance; yet, Danby still sells this appliance.I just returned this to Amazon. My recommendation: Do not buy this.

I had a previous model - problems

Pros:1. Looked ok,2. Didn't usually leak (only once when hose loosened, and then again when it got older and gaskets wore out)Cons:1. It arrived damaged even though the box was fine.2. It doesn't get the dishes very clean unless I scrub them first (possibly due to the not very hot water in my house).3. After about four? years the gasket wore out and now needs to be replaced.I do not want to buy another Danby. I post here just to give them their due. This model seems even worse, judging by the reviews. Try SPT or Premia.

Danby 6 place setting countertop machine

Great counter top machine, will not accept large plates without leaning them over and bowls are hard to place in the rack. Otherwise works great and is quiet. I have had three previous counter-top machines and this one is the best of them all.
