Terrible product, terrible customer service

Save yourself the disappointment and aggravation, and resist the low price point temptation of this product.Mine was installed two weeks ago. A summary of issues I have already experienced:1) The welds on the grates above the stovetop burners are so cheap and weak, one of the arms has already broken off, making it impossible to balance a kettle or saucepan over one of the burners.2) The pilot lighter stopped working for two days, with no obvious reason why, forcing us to manually light. Resumed working for no obvious reason, but I am wary that this will happen at any moment and have invested in a trusty Bic bbq lighter.3) The oven won't stay lit. I've actually read the manual and tried all the suggestions. I wrote to customer service and they basically admitted that this is a common problem and they can't simply help me troubleshoot, but we need to call in warranty repair service. I've had the unit for two weeks.Do yourself a favor and save your pennies for a more reliable unit. There's really a market gap for mid-price ranges like from GE or Whirlpool for this size (24" width), which are reliable but not fancy. The others in this width are fancier European brands like Bertazzoni.

A cheap, low-quality oven which lasts around 6 months

This oven feels lightweight and cheap. That's because it *is* lightweight and cheap.We've had to have 3 warranty visits to fix the defective thermocouple on the oven so it would stay on. That's finally fixed, but now we have to live with the fact that you have to hold the ignition down for 20 seconds to get the oven to light. The broiler protrudes into the oven, costing you around 20% of your oven space because you can't use the top rack position. The oven racks won't slide in or out easily. When very hot, the gasket on the oven door loosens, and the oven door hinges often warp so that it won't open properly.The only reason it's 2 stars is that the stovetop works pretty well, and I like the little simmer burner. Also, the oven vent successfully directs oven waste heat away from the stovetop.Otherwise, it's a total lemon. I advise looking for another brand; come January, we're junking this thing and getting a GE.

Pray that you don't need to get it fixed

Good functionality, but the oven thermostat began functioning erratically as soon as the warranty expired. My gas company was able to service the oven (it's not complicated), but I had to order the parts from Avanti. They sent the wrong parts. If they send the right parts this time, I'll have to pay for another service call to get the new part put in. Not even an "I'm sorry" from Avanti. My advice would be a name brand like Sears.

Nice oven but not for long

Purchased this oven a little under 2 years ago and the paint under the control panel area is peeling and bubbling. This is right above where the heat comes out and the top does get very hot when you use the oven. Called Frigidaire and was told this is a "cosmetic issue" not a defect and that even if I had only owned it for a week it would not be covered under warranty. I bought this to match the stainless steel gallery dishwasher I purchased at the same time but had I done some more research maybe I would've purchased another brand. Frigidaire customer service totally unhelpful and unapologetic - would not purchase again.

The burners have never failed to light first try. There are five of them (four small ones and one large). The smaller burners struggle to bring a large pot of water to a boil. The big one does the job super fast. This means if I'm cooking a pot of pasta, and something else requiring a large pan, one of them has to have to wait in line for the single big burner.The grates remove easily, making clean-up a snap. I'm a messy cook so that's important to me. My last range had a ceramic cook top. The one before that was a coil. Despite the drawbacks, I like this stove top better than my previous ceramic top range, and the coil one I had before that.The oven comes with three oven shelves. It's roomy inside, but baking results in uneven browning. When broiling, the food at the center of the oven browns, while the food at the edges is barely touched.If I had to do over I think I would have gotten a dual fuel range, one with a gas stove top, but with an electric oven. But I do love the stove top, I just wish it had TWO big burners instead of only one. That's a serious drawback for me.Overall, I like this range, but I'm not in love with it.

Good looking; Good cooking

I do not mess with gas - I hired someone to come hook this up for me after I put together what I could. By the way, it shipped quickly & was very well packaged; no visible damage detected. My only complaint (well, two) is the back is flimsy, even after following instructions to a tee. It could use a stronger support to hold it firmly in place. The other complaint is, setting up the oven (igniting it that is) was frustrating. It is not positioned in a way to make the job easy. The bottom tray is a little warped but am able to live with that, even though it's expensive & probably should have not settled for less. It's nothing unattractive and besides it's on the inside!It works terrific. It looks terrific. It is small but efficient. I did not think to have the installer adjust the stove top flame - I need to get brave and get the instructions out and do it myself I suppose!

cooking with gas

This range was carefully shopped and chosen from among its competitors. It has a good look and design. It seems to be performing well too. I am seriously considering a second unit. This is still far and away my first choice. It wins the design look and function award of any of its competitors until the price is quadrupled. Even then it might be a worthy contender for purchase eliminating its lower as a factor.
