Can't recommend this one. Not as advertised and unreliable.
By Mom in the Midwest
I originally rated this unit 4 stars, but unfortunately after getting two units that broke immediately, I would change this to no stars if I could. I bought this unit primarily to make crushed ice for tea and cocktails, and to make ice that fits easily into water bottles for biking and school use. It worked well for that application when it worked at all. The advertised settings for ice to make snowcones and slushies are non existent, which was a disappointment. It makes chunks of ice about 1/2 inch big, a few larger and a few smaller. The feet of the machine are little vacuum suckers, so the machine does not slide around during use. UPDATE: Unit worked fine with a minimum of jamming for about 10 days, and then the blades stopped turning. As per instructions, I let it sit to see if there was a piece of ice stuck, but to no avail. The motor buzzed, but nothing was moving in there. I returned it to Amazon for an exchange. I'll give it a second try, but if this unit fails, then I'll return it for a refund and try the Waring also listed on this site. UPDATE 2: The replacement arrived, and lasted through one tray of ice cubes. Again, the unit is jammed for no visible reason. Back it goes, and for a refund this time. Not recommended.

Not as advertised. No snowcones or slushies
By JR
The product quality is very poor. While it does crush ice as advertised, the strenght of the blades is very poor. I had the unit for 3 months and used it about 15 times, then it stoped. Opened the unit and found one of the rotating blades bent and jammed against one of the non-rotating blades. After unjamming and straightening the blade, proceeded to observe the operation with the cover removed an noticed how smaller ice cubes (less than 1-1/2") will force the rotating blade to the side and causing it to jam on the fixed blades. In addition it does not have a setting for snow cones ice shaving.I do not recommend this Ice Crusher

Blades Are Too Weak
By WANT ADS
We brought this product for Christmas cheer and it failed to excite. Actually, it was wonderful for the first two or so uses. Thereafter, the ice seemed to get "stuck" inside the unit. In other words, the mechanism inside the crusher does not grab the ice and the ice just spins around inside. The unit then requires serious agitation to get the ice to grind and come through the dispenser, which may damage the machine. We find that the only way to get this to work is to throw one piece of ice in at a time lengthwise, rendering the funnel at the top completely useless. Also, there are no variable settings for the ice, so it only crushes ice to one size. We worked in this way for about two weeks and then the machine just stopped grinding completely. This is now a throwaway item.
