Could be great except you can't turn it off

This hood, Broan QP330SS 30in Evolution Series 3 Range Hood - Stainless Steel, does a good job of exhausting heat and smells, and the 4 halogen light bulbs are great. It is quiet at low speed, but fairly noisy at higher speeds, and the hood has a built-in feature that keeps the fan running until its sensor decides the temperature is low enough. As a result we frequently have to listen to the fan noise while trying to enjoy the meal I just cooked. I would not have bought this hood if I had known I would not be able to turn off the fan.

This range hood met all of my expectations. I was worried that the heat sentry would turn the fan on when I didnt want it to run because of cooking in the winter the heat from the oven just helps heat the house. I have baked in the oven at least ten times for times exceeding two hours and the sentry did not kick in. If I place a stock pot on the rear burners that are at full boil the sentry kicks which is fine. There is not a way to turn the fan off when the sentry turns the fan on but it removes the excess heat fast and turns off.The unit is very quiet and simple to clean. The filters pop right out and are easy to clean. The four halogen lights included are very bright and when on their highest setting I can use the heat they emit to raise my bread on the stove top. On low fan speed you cant hear it running. When the fan is in boost mode it will lift a paper towel off your hand from 10" below it. Keep in mind the left side is allot better at venting because the fan is located on that side.Installation was a little tricky but found it much less complicated to make a template out of the box it came in to install the mounting screws. I did reinforce the bottom of my cabnit because of the weight of the unit.Shipping was fast and the unit was packed very well. It was actually double boxed.Over all I think this is a great product and have no regrets on my purchase.

I had to replace an old vent-a-hood and so I was limited to this size. I searched everywhere and just couldn't find one that was attractive from below. (You can see ours from our living room when sitting down) Anyway, this one looks great and is so unbelievably quiet! It has 4 lights with 3 different levels. You can see what you are cooking! It has some other great features that I never even knew you could get. Delayed stop, a timer for pasta, etc., and even a night light level of lighting. Easy to install, looks great and works!
